Sorority Partners With Portland Parks for Free Tree Giveaway

The Portland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is partnering with Portland Parks & Recreation this summer to give away free trees to community members within the Portland Metro Area.

The Tree Giveaway Program’s goal is to increase shade, especially in North and East Portland. Trees provide essential public health and environmental services but not all Portlanders have access to these resources. Most of the available planting space within the city is on private property so the Yard Tree Giveaway focuses on planting trees on private property.

Delivery and planting is available upon request.
