The Central Area Chamber of Commerce presents public business seminars entitled "The Right Place, The Right Time," "Doing Business in the
21st Century," "Challenging Times," "Mortgage Management," "Marketing," "Re-invent Yourself," "Taxes and YOU," and more.
The seminars are Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Catholic Community Services Building, 100 23rd Ave., off Yesler Way, across from Douglas Truth Library and The Cannon House.
Refreshments will be served, the events are free and open to the public, parking is free.
Sound Transit Feedback
Sound Transit seeks public comment on several service changes that are proposed for 2009, including changes to bus routes serving Issaquah, and plans for the opening of Link light rail line from Tukwila to downtown Seattle in July.
There are several options for submitting comments, including two Open House event for the 2009 Service Implementation Plan, Thursday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Union Station, Great Hall, 401 S. Jackson St., andThursday, Dec. 4, Noon to 12:30 p.m., Union Station, Ruth Fisher Board Room, 401 S. Jackson St.

Flood Damage
King County residents and business owners who sustained damage from the recent storms and flooding are encouraged to report uninsured property damages online, or by calling 1-800-523-5044 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. today and Tuesday.
The phone hotline will close after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday; however the online form will still be available after Tuesday by visiting http://your.kingcounty.gov/prepare/damage.
Damage information will be collected to determine if a request for federal disaster assistance can be made. Residents who have questions or are not sure if they qualify should call the Office of Emergency Management at 206-296-3830.
Financial Crisis Panel
Financial Crisis: Perspectives from the University of Washington, is Monday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Most of us are still having trouble understanding what has gone wrong with the world's economic system, even as we face difficult and personal decisions about how to navigate the crisis, and evaluate the proposed solutions.
The University of Washington has organized an interdisciplinary panel of experts to discuss the fast changing economic landscape, including Professors Lew Mandell, David Domke, and Jonathan Karpoff.
From the perspectives of finance, politics, and journalism, the panelists discuss how and why it occurred, how it might be influenced by the presidential elections, and steps we should take to protect our own pocketbooks and get the economy back on track. KUOW's Steve Scher moderates. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life and the University of Washington.

Computer Recycling Benefit
EWC Group, Inc. will be holding an e-waste collection and recycling event benefitting Seattle's Union Gospel Mission at EWC Groups' Seattle facility, 660 S. Othello St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday Nov. 21 and Saturday Nov. 22.
EWC Group will charge a flat fee of $10 cash only, for each television or computer monitor that is brought in for recycling. Consumers can also bring in their other outdated electronic products, and EWC Group will recycle them, free of charge.
Beginning February of next year, the analog to digital switch will render older televisions useless, unless a convertor is applied. This event is a perfect opportunity to get rid of older television sets and lend a helping hand to the Seattle community.
